Islamia University Chief Security Officer Arrested
In a
shocking incident, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Islamia University
Bahawalpur (IUB) was apprehended by police officers from the Baghdadul Jadid
police station. The arrest was made after the suspect's vehicle was flagged
down at a checkpoint, and he attempted to escape but was swiftly intercepted.
During a search of the vehicle, police officers discovered 10 grams of crystal meth and aphrodisiacs in the possession of the CSO, identified as Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah. The startling revelation didn't end there; the suspect's two mobile phones contained numerous explicit videos and pictures of female officials and students from various departments of IUB.
The incident came to light when the FIR, filed by SI Muhammad Afzal Nawaz, exposed the alarming content found on the suspect's mobile phones.
The accused reportedly confessed to using and selling crystal meth and admitted that the objectionable material was indeed related to the university's female personnel and students.
The Baghdadul Jadid police stated that their actions were driven by intelligence-driven information and their determination to eradicate drug peddlers from educational institutions.
Syed Ejaz Shah, a retired army major, had been employed by the university several years ago under the former vice-chancellor, as confirmed by the IUB website, which identifies him as the CSO.
When approached for a response, the IUB spokesperson, Shehzad Khalid, remained tight-lipped and refrained from providing any comments despite
multiple attempts by news outlets.
This shocking development has sent ripples through the academic community, and investigations into the matter are ongoing to ensure justice for those affected.
