CM Punjab Announce 500 Scholarships For PhD Students Latest Updates

Chief Minister Merit Scholarships (CMMS) / PhD level Foreign Scholarships Programmed. The Govt. of the Punjab has launched Ph.D Foreign Scholarship Program , As per the eligibility criteria set for this scheme scholarship program, both male & female applicants fulfilling the selection criteria are selected for award of PhD scholarship to pursue their degree course from the one of the top 50 ranked universities of the world. The scholarship scheme focuses the meritorious students of Punjab. However, special quota have also been allocated for applicants coming from other federating units of Pakistan.

The Punjab Government has recently unveiled a significant initiative by announcing 500 scholarships tailored for PhD students. Under this educational scholarship program, only eligible students will be selected to receive monthly assistance, addressing their academic needs. The primary aim of this endeavor is to extend support to students facing financial constraints, thus enabling them to pursue higher education unhindered. Many students, burdened by financial limitations, are compelled to forgo their educational aspirations and seek employment prematurely. In recognition of this plight, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has championed the cause of these students, pledging assistance to facilitate their educational pursuits.

If you wish to enroll in the educational scholarship program but find yourself ineligible or haven’t yet completed the registration process, fret not. The Government of Pakistan has implemented new procedures to ensure that even those who initially do not meet the eligibility criteria can still benefit from the program.

Eligibility Criteria

•  Valid PhD admission offer from one of the Top 50 (Subject Wise) Universities of the World (QS ranking) in preferred subject areas (www.peef.org.pk/cmms)

• Not less than 60% marks throughout the academic career.

• Declared monthly family income (including self, spouse and parents) is equal to or less than PKR. 200,000/-

• Maximum age of 35 years at the time of submission of application.

• Not availed any foreign scholarship in the past .

• Must take up the scholarship in the year for which is offered and the scholarship shall not be deferred to the next year.

• All Pakistani nationals, both males and females are eligible to apply.

Note

Existing permanent / regular faculty members of public sector teaching / educational institutions of Pakistan are not eligible to apply for PhD Foreign Scholarship.

Scholarship Coverage

PhD Scholarships awarded under CMMS are fully funded and cover the following costs:

• 100% Tuition fees

•  Boarding and Lodging (as per approved rates)

• Health Insurance

• Airfare

Discipline Wise Allocation of Scholarships

•  80 % scholarships are reserved for Science disciplines

•  20% of scholarships are reserved for Social Sciences/Humanities and Arts.

Geographical Distribution of Scholarships

•  scholarships have been allocated for the students of Punjab.

•  10% scholarships have been allocated for the other federating units of Pakistan.
